Our Story

It was in the early eighties that under the guidance of their teachers a group of volunteer medical students started a project for impoverished communities in the slum areas of Karachi, to provide them with primary health care at their doorsteps with a special emphasis on immunization.

Over the years the program gradually extended its outreach and transformed into an organization in 1990, which was registered with the Government Department of Social Welfare in 1991.

Today HELP is working in 10 districts of Sindh providing primary health care facilities through its network of community health workers, 3 fixed health facilities in Karachi, a fully equipped maternal and child health centre in Khuda ki Basti and 15 maternal and child care centers in Tharparkar.

Over the years through its three pre-primary schools and home schools located in Katchi abadis of Karachi HELP has been able to bring a change in the lives of hundreds of students.

Its WASH programme has brought a change in the lives of thousands of under privileged in the district of Tharparkar, Dadu, Nousharo Feroz, Sanghar, Umarkot, and four districts of Karachi.
